Trioworld, along with thousands of companies and organizations, has set the target to reach net-zero GHG emissions across the value chain by 2050.
ON-DEMAND WEBINAR
Trioworld, along with thousands of companies and organizations, has set the target to reach net-zero GHG emissions across the value chain by 2050. An important prerequisite for achieving this goal is the development of a circular economy. But key components for the transition are beyond our control. There is a need for an increase in customer demand for recycled content, investments in recycling infrastructure and bold decisions by governments and other political leaders.
In line with Trioworld’s ambitious business strategy, investments are being made and business models are adapted to be able to reach the target in 2050. By building circular systems, increasing recycled content, and advancing innovations in recycling, Trioworld is ramping up to meet the demands of a sustainable future.
The new EU Commission continues the work towards a more circular and resilient economy. One of the announced initiatives is the new Circular Economy Act aiming to help create market demand for secondary materials and a single market for waste.
Recyclers play a pivotal role in strengthening European competitiveness as well as decarbonizing the economy. The European recycling and waste management industries, represented by EuRIC and FEAD, are at the heart of the switch towards a circular and climate neutral economy.

The new Clean Industrial Deal presents a joint roadmap for competitiveness and decarbonisation. In this context, recyclers play a pivotal role in achieving both goals, not only cutting carbon emissions but also reducing the EU’s dependence on virgin raw materials. However, the plastic recycling industry is facing an unprecedented crisis due to the low demand for recycled plastics, which requires urgent policy action under the new Circular Economy Act. EuRIC, the European Recycling Industries’ Confederation, proposes 5 key recommendations to boost plastics recycling in the EU while driving innovation and competitiveness.
