Trioworld, a leading producer of plastic packaging solutions, has committed to set company-wide greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets in line with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which aims to drive ambitious climate action across the private sector globally.
Working with the recuction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) is a natural step in Trioworld’s sustainable business strategy to lead the industry change towards circularity in plastic packaging, where Trioworld can make a significant difference through our customer offering, with recyclable packaging solutions based on Post-Consumer Recyclates available for consumer and industrial packaging, transport and load security, and agriculture.
To turn the commitment into reality, one focus area will be to continue to develop circular products and solutions together with our customers and partners, developing both technologies and processes to increase the use of recycled materials. Trioworld will also work actively with suppliers to identify reduction opportunities together.
“An industry shift does not come easy, but we are in a rush to take the leaps required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. From my perspective, we need to stop discussing and start acting right now, before it is too late.”, says Andreas Malmberg, CEO of Trioworld. “We already have ambitious sustainability targets and as a signee of the UN Global Compact, our commitment to set science-based emissions reduction targets is a natural next step in our ongoing work to lead our industry into circularity. It will be challenging for all parties in our value chain, so we need to work together to develop both technologies and legislation to better produce, use and recycle”, continues Andreas Malmberg.
